History

I Purchased this guitar in 2012 from an Estate sale of a collector. I was told that the guitar had not been played. The guitar is all original, in excellent condition, plays great, intonation is great and so is the sound. This is a replica of a 1934 D-28 (Birth of an iconic guitar design D-28).

I play this guitar at home and I have taken it out only a few times. The back and sides are Madagascar Rosewood. Experts in the industry consider Madagascar rosewood to be a better rosewood for sound than Brazillian Rosewood

Celebrate 75 Years of the D-28 with This Limited Edition Guitar!

The Martin D-28 75th Anniversary Limited Edition acoustic guitar celebrates a milestone for a legendary instrument! Based on the D-28 Marquis Madagascar model, the D-28 75th Anniversary Limited Edition features a solid Adirondack spruce top and a solid Madagascar rosewood back and sides for rich tone and subtly great looks. Other distinctive features include a Madagascar rosewood headplate, a special headstock decal, an interior label personally signed by C.F. Martin IV (and numbered in sequence), and a special anniversary Harptone case with the D-28 75th Anniversary Limited Edition. Martin D-28 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Acoustic Guitar at a Glance: Since its introduction in 1930s, the Martin D-28 has remained the standard by which all large bodied, steel-string acoustic guitars are measured. While the standard D28 utilizes solid spruce and solid East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, the D-28 75th Anniversary Limited Edition sports a premium Adirondack spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides, plus a Madagascar rosewood headplate. Genuine ebony is used for the fingerboard and bridge.
With its rich resonant warmth, the D28 is particularly well suited to bluegrass, country, and other musical styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment.
